The Swap It Don’t Stop It campaign was launched by the Federal Government in March 2011 and ended on 31 March 2013. The campaign followed on from the Measure Up Campaign (2008-2010) and focused on promoting the simple, everyday changes people can make to get them on their way to a healthier lifestyle without losing all the things they love.
In February 2013, the Australian Government launched Shape Up Australia to follow on from Swap It, Don’t Stop It. Like the Swap It, Don’t Stop It campaign, Shape Up Australia aims to help Australians reduce their waist measurements and improve their overall health and wellbeing. This campaign highlighted the link between increased waist measurement and the risk of chronic disease, such as heart disease, some cancers and Type 2 diabetes.
This campaign builds on the awareness created by the Measure Up campaign and shows people how they can make small lifestyle changes to improve their health.
